Tell your Senator to Support Children's Health!

Almost ten million children under five will die this year -- and every year -- from preventable and treatable diseases like pneumonia. They die because they were born in poorer countries and don't have access to simple treatments that most of us in America take for granted.

We can do something to help save these millions of young lives, and so can Congress. Members of Congress have introduced legislation called the Global Child Survival Act (H.R. 2266, S.1418) that would recommit the United States to lead the way in improving children's health by expanding funding for proven solutions like antibiotics and immunizations.

Give these ten million children a stronger chance to live by urging your Senators and Representative to co-sponsor the Global Child Survival Act.

More than one in three Native women will be raped in their lifetimes. A complex maze of tribal, state and federal jurisdictions allows perpetrators to rape with impunity and in some cases even encourages assaults.

Join voices with Native American & Alaska Native women and take action to stop the violence.

Take Action to Repeal the Global Gag Rule

On Monday, January 22nd, 2007, Representatives Nita Lowey (D-NY), Chris Shays (R-CT) and 36 other members of Congress reintroduced the Global Democracy Promotion Act (GDPA), a bill that would repeal the Global Gag Rule and release much needed funds for international family planning programs. The GDPA prohibits the denial of U.S. funds to overseas groups based on the medical services they provide, and makes clear that U.S. funds may not be used to impose restrictions on free speech that would be illegal if applied in the United States. Contact your Members of Congress today and ask them to add their names to the list of co-sponsors of the GDPA.
